THE ART OF TAKING NOTES THE RIGHT WAY

During tests and while learning, it happens that we write down notes but have a hard time reviewing them. This is a very common issue with most of us.
Here are five simple ideas that can help to improve your note taking process so that you can get maximum advantage from the notes you take.

1.Don’t overdo it: Just focus on the main ideas and write them down. If you note everything, then your notes will be ineffective. We all want to learn as much as possible in the least amount of time. But this is not always good. So, do not overexert your brain.

2.Focus on a few main categories: Know about the key terms and important topics. Note them in an organized manner. Do not write every little detail. Just note the necessary things in points. This way you can recall easily.

3.Keep the notebook with you all the times: The notebook that you make notes in should be with you at all times. This way you can note down whatever clicks you at any moment a lot of times we get good ideas about the topics we are studying but these ideas tend to be forgotten if not noted down immediately. Also, it will prevent the notebook from getting lost or misplaced, which is the most common issue.

4.Have a special spot for the phrases you hear in your notebook: Save some space for the words and phrases that you think you have never heard before. This helps you to keep a record of them for future reference. A separate spot should be reserved so that you can find new words and phrases easily from your notebook.

5.Take this information out into the world: Making notes is of no use at all if you do not apply what you learn. You need to practice in real time situations so that you can get proper understanding.
Scan through your notes as often as possible. This will help you learn and perform better.
