Much of the history of Moga can be traced with respect to that of Faridkot district, of which it was a part. Historians also theorize that the present district could have been a site of the previous Indo-Greek settlement, Maues. The rich history of this region also has a prominent place in the Sikh struggle against the Mughals in India. 

 

Today, Moga is all about the green revolution in Punjab. Besides, its dairy industry developed fast with the Nestle Dairy Plant established in 1961.
